Congratulations ASHLEY!

Ashley Borrego started working with SAMO Fund during the Covid-19 pandemic and is an enthusiastic advocate for California’s wild spaces, in particular our local ecosystems right here in the Santa Monica Mountains. Her love for the unique ecology of California began in childhood camping trips in the Sierra and grew during on-line classes learning about conservation and plant communities.

She started at SAMO Fund as a Social Media Intern, using her digital communication skills to tell the story of the land and plants. Ashley has been an integral lead in the Mission Monarch Project: collecting seeds to nurture the special relationship between monarch butterflies; educating the local community; advocating for milkweed use in urban gardens; researching best practices for growing milkweed; and, restoring monarch and milkweed habitat.

Ashley recently accepted a promotion to a full time position at NPS - Congratulations Ashley! We are excited to watch you progress in your career!
