The Restoration Crew began the first of their plantings for the Re:wild project

Over two weekends, the restoration crew worked alongside a few dozen volunteers and CNC interns to plant over 4,000 native plants along Potrero Creek at RSV. Only 46,000 to go! Capstone students from CSUCI set up experimental plots among the plantings to test the effectiveness of cages for roots and above ground growth to protect against herbivory.

Background on the project. Re:wild has partnered with Snap, Inc. (the parent company of Snapchat) to grant $600k to SAMO Fund to restore habitat and install 50,000 plants. Re:wild has produced beautiful videos to promote the work by the SAMO restoration crew.
