WHY WE NEED THE WILDLIFE CROSSING

Sadly another mountain lion was found dead on the 405 Freeway close to Mulholland Drive, early on Thursday morning. It was likely struck and killed by a car, but the investigation is underway.

At least 29 mountain lions have been killed by traffic since 2002 in the Santa Monica Mountains, Simi Hills and Verdurgo mountains.

The latest death only adds to the argument for the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing, and more like it, as we learn to cohabit more successfully with the wildlife surrounding us.
