Non-Profit Group Continues Efforts To Restore Historic Movie Set Destroyed By South Coast Wildfire - Article on KCLU Website

Paramount Ranch is a unique cowboy town that was created for the movies. It is a free park that you can drive up to and explore, and has everything from hiking trails and abandoned buildings to a fake train station and jail.

Some of the movies and shows that have been filmed here include:

  • Blast from the Past

  • The Great Outdoors

  • Scream

  • The Love Bug

  • Geronimo

  • The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

  • Sutter’s Gold

  • The Texan

  • Open Range

  • TV Show – Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman

  • TV Show – Westworld

Unfortunately, the Woolsey fire almost completely destroyed the ranch, and since then the Santa Monica Mountains Fund has been raising funds to restore this gem. Check out this article from KCLU for more information.
