Improved Cheeseboro Trailhead is Now Open!

After nearly 10 months, the Cheeseboro Trailhead is open to visitors! On August 9th, the National Park Service hosted a formal ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the completion of the Cheeseboro Trailhead Improvement Project, a project which encompassed such improvements as installing a shade structure, updating the mountain bike shed, installing polecraft fencing throughout the site, constructing a new DG equestrian/pedestrian trail, installing trash cans, a new entrance sign, and preparing the vault toilet facilities.

Ribbon cutters included NPS Superintendent David Szymanski, Chris Anstead (Mayor, City of Agoura Hills), Rori Skei (Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy), and Deanna Armbruster (SAMO Fund). Attendees included elected officials from the City of Agoura Hills, congressional staff, SMMC/MRCA, SAMO Fund, NPS team members that worked on the project, a representative from the construction contractor, park volunteers, and locals.
