Congratulations Javier!

SAMO Fund employee, Javier Sandoval-Garcia, has recently passed all written and skills exams necessary to obtain his Commercial Driver License (including Passenger endorsement, Air Brakes, and Water Tank operations).

This licensure is a much-needed certification within the park. It will allow Javier to operate a 12-passenger van for the SAMO Youth program, which will be used to transport SAMO Youth participants to various job sites within the SMMNRA. It will also allow Javier to assist the Restoration program by operating the water-tender, which will help water newly planted sites where water is otherwise unavailable.

Pictured here is the vehicle in which Javier conducted his test drive for licensure; however, please note that this big “Magic School Bus” is not the one that we’ll be using for park ops. A big congratulations goes to Javier on his valuable accomplishment!
