Santa Monica Mountains Fund Staff Team Meeting Day

Santa Monica Mountains Fund (SAMO Fund) is thrilled to announce a grant award from the S. Mark Taper Foundation for general operating support. This generous grant will help SAMO Fund expand its own capacity through fundraising and grant writing to grow programs which reach and impact in the local community.

Santa Monica Mountains Fund is the Official Park Partner for the National Park Service in the Santa Monica Mountains. SAMO Fund is dedicated to preserving and protecting the Santa Monica Mountains and its surrounding areas. This grant will help the organization to continue to provide diverse youth with opportunities to experience the outdoors and nature as well as career development in the field of public land management, recreation leadership, wildlife research, plant botany and environmental education. The aim is to encourage an interest in environmental stewardship and support for the Santa Monica Mountains that will last for life. Our programs include SAMO Youth, Open Outdoors for Everyone, OYE! Youth, Girls Outside. SAMO Fund also supports restoration of habitat, wildlife research and recognition of the Indigenous populations through cultural educational activities.
