Any child under 16 may submit an entry. Please indicate the child's age when entering so they may be sorted into the appropriate age category.

The contest is open from September 7th at 9:00 AM until October 15th at 11:59.

Color the image found on page 10 of the coloring book, The Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing image, in either the PDF version or the physical copy of the Santa Monica Mountains Fund's Coloring Book. You may use crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

Entrants can also choose to enter the My Mountains: Freeform Frame by drawing and/or coloring their own picture in the frame on page 24. The picture must be in the theme of "Santa Monica Mountains'.

ONLINE ENTRIES:

Submit an entry via our online form, below. Please read the information, agree to the terms, and upload your file(s). An adult guardian's consent is required for all entries and will be collected on the form.

FOR MAILED IN ENTRIES:

You may mail in the entry instead, if you so desire.

Please write the child's name on the page(s) clearly. If you are submitting both page 10 and 24, please write the child's name on both

On a separate piece of paper, include the following information:

• First and last name of the entrant (child)

• The age of the child

• Name of the guardian to contact

• Guardian's contact email

• Mailing address where prizes can be received

• Include the signature of the guardian.

• Signing this entry form will be considered to indicate consent of entry into the contest as well as consent to display the child's first name, age, and artwork on social media and/or website unless otherwise stated!

All information MUST be clearly written or the entry will not be accepted.

Please note that we will be unable to return any entries physically mailed to us.

Whether submitted online or mailed, the entrant may still only submit one image into the main category and one into the freeform category. The last entry received in each category will be the one considered.

Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing page ( Ages 6 and below, Ages 7-9, Ages 10-12, and Aged 13+ ) categories :

People's Choice & My Mountains categories:

Participation:

All entries will be awarded participation gifts as a thank you for their hard work and bravery in submitting their art.

Entries will be judged based on the following:

For categories "Ages 6 and Below" and "Ages 7-9" winners will be based on creativity and use of color

For categories "Ages 10-12" and "Ages 13+" winners will be based on creativity, neatness, and use of color

For the "My Mountains: Freeform Frame" category, winners will be based on creativity, artistic imagination, unique concept, and drawing skill according to age.

The "People's Choice Award" category will be based on tallied votes received via social media according to the rules.

Your pannel of judges include Heather Graham (SAMO Fund Artistic Director), Emma Beatty Howells (Digital Director), Preston DeCorte (National Park Services Representative), & Lauren Gill (National Wildlife Federation)

Winners will be announced after Nov 15th. Winners will be notified via the email provided on the entry form. Please provide accurate information. Announcements via Social Media and website will follow along with the display of the winning artwork.

Please indicate an adult guardian's permission for the minor's first name, age (not required) and/or artwork (required) to be posted to our social accounts and website.

Plese note that in order to participate in the "People's Choice Award" category, permission to post the artwork must be given

Prizes will be sent to the winning parties via post to the address provided on the entry form. Please provide accurate information.

If there needs to be an update to your information, please alert us so there is no delay in delivery.

Only one entry into the "Wallis Annenberg" category and one entry into the "My Mountains" category will be accepted (a possible total of 2 entries). Upload both entries in one form. In the case of siblings or those in the same household, please use separate forms for each child. Multiple entries into one category are not permitted. If multiple entry forms are submitted for the same person, only the last entry received within the participation period will be considered valid. In the case of a correction of information, please contact us directly rather than submitting a new entry form. Duplicate entries may lead to disqualification.

Digitally-colored entries or entries assisted by AI will not be accepted.

Failure to provide the necessary information and/or permissions may lead to disqualification.

Any entry received outside of the entry period will not be considered. The participation period is September 7th (9:00 AM) until October 15th (11:59 PM). Times are in PST.

This contest is intended for individuals. Collaboration is not permitted. If two participant names are written, only the first one will be acknowledged. Please do not include middle names to avoid confusion. In the case of first names consisting of two or more words, please hyphenate or combine them. ( IE: SooYeon Kim or Soo-Yeon Kim )

In the case of a mailed in submission, you may send multiple submissions in one envelope, but please Indicate each child's name clearly on the picture so there is no mistake.

Lastly, this is a contest meant to showcase the personal talents of young artists. In the spirit of a fair competition, please refrain from assisting the entrants with their coloring and/or drawing. We hope that this goes without saying.

From October 16th (8:00 AM) to November 14th (8:00 PM) people may vote on their favorites by commenting, sharing, and liking the images.

Votes can be cast multiple times for as many images as you like and in any variety. It is possible to vote multiple times a day. Votes are as follows:

• 1 like = 1 vote

• 1 comment = 1 vote

• 1 share = 2 votes

Shared content MUST include the hashtags: #SAMOFund #SantaMonicaMountains #ColorTheCrossing

Comments made on shared content will only count if they too include the hashtags. Please direct people to comment on the original post when possible

Sharing a shared post can count if the proper hashtags are used. It will be tallied as 1 share.

Votes will be tallied and winners announced along with the other categories.
