WHY DONATE TO OUR PARKS?National Parks are one of America’s “Best Ideas”, but unfortunately decreases in Federal Funding have left the National Park Service chronically underfunded for the past decade or so, despite their increase in visitor numbers. Almost $12 billion are needed for infrastructure repairs, maintenance and protection of our parks and their iconic and unique vistas, outdoor spaces and natural and historic wonders. (NPCA)
This need for investment to modernize the National Parks and respond to conservation needs and climate change is increasingly falling upon the private sector to bridge the gap. Consequently, many iconic national parks like the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area rely on vibrant partners like SAMO Fund to help raise the necessary funding to tackle these pressing challenges and preserve and protect these places we all love. $10 can help secure the future of Monarch Butterflies by keeping our Monarchs and Milkweed Project flush with milkweed plants to give away to communities, schools, and senior gardens.
$15 can help a child discover the natural world with our Everyone Outdoors program, which funds youths in under-served communities to experience the national park, often for the first time.
