NATIVE PLANT STEWARD PROGRAM

🌱Join SAMO Fund’s First-Ever Native Plant Steward Program!

In partnership with North East Trees and LA Conservation Corps, this opportunity invites you to connect with native plants and gain hands-on experience in their care, species identification, and best practices.

Applications are open until April 18th—apply below for a chance to be selected! Those who complete the program will earn a Native Plant Steward Certification from SAMO Fund.

About the Program

  • During this six week program, you will gain the skills to grow and care for native species used in restoration projects and community giveaways. In total, the course consists of 6 hours of lecture classes and 18 hours of hands-on nursery work. These classes and hands-on experiences dive into fundamental nursery operations, seed collection and propagation methods, and key plant knowledge.

    • Attend all 6 Zoom Classes

    • Attend all 6 in-person workshops

    • Complete 40 volunteer hours at the nursery

    IN-PERSON TRAINING

    Every Friday - either from 9AM to 12PM at North East Trees or from 2:30-5:30PM at the RSV Nursery

    Accepted applicants will be expected to be in attendance at every class.
