David T. “Woody” Woodruff
David T. "Woody" Woodruff was a lifelong outdoor enthusiast and 48-year local resident who loved the Santa Monica mountains. He once said he had "hiked up and down every hill in the area."
Woody’s father was the minister in Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, so Woody’s summers growing up were spent exploring the Parks with his family. As a father of five, he took his family on countless camping trips. Once retired, Woody enjoyed long weekend hikes with his daughter Jane, as well as trekking the local hills alone until well into his 70s.
Like all of us who are lucky enough to live in the area, Woody shared a love of the amazing views and vistas of the Santa Monica Mountains.
Woody’s family cannot imagine a better tribute than to donate to the SAMO General Fund in his honor
The Santa Monica Mountains Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and preserving the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, the country’s largest urban national park.
